I remember the first time I talked to Coach Edwards. He told me, "Everytime you're sitting around doing nothing, somebody is out there working harder than you and getting better than you." No other words could have affected my life the way his did. I've always been a hardworker, but after spending time with Coach Edwards I've
experienced the benefits from a committment to working hard everday. After only one month with Coach Edwards, I improved my endurance, stamina, quickness, speed, and basketball skills. Even after people said I couldn't reach my goal of playing Division I basketball, he believed in me and told me I could accomplish anything as long as I had desire and dedication.
I am now taking all the knowledge and advice he has given me and taking it to UMBC where I'll be playing my freshman season in 2002. I thank him for everything he's done for me and I'll always remember him for being like a father, for being a great friend, and especially for being a great teacher.
