Last
winter
my
English
teacher
in
Germany
asked
me
what
I
wanted
to
do
when
I
was
older.
After
I
gave
it
some
thought,
I
told
him
that
I
wanted
to
pursue
a
career
in
the
USA.
So
I
decided
to
take
some
action.
I
discussed
it
over
with
my
family
and
they
guaranteed
me
their
full
support.
With
a
determined
state
of
mind.
I
picked
up
the
phone
and,
after
various
amounts
of
telephone
calls
overseas,
friends
of
my
parents
asked
me
to
visit
them
during
my
Easter
vacation.
They
told
me
that
they
knew
someone
who
was
very
educated
about
the
American
school
system
and
could
offer
me
help
and
guidance
regarding
my
new
future
plans.
So
they
introduced
me
to
Mr.
Allen
Edwards,
president
of
the
Educators
Basketball
Association.
He
then
advised
me
to
graduate
from
an
American
high
school
first
because
this
would
give
me
a
better
basis
to
go
further
onto
and
American
college.
Back
then,
I
was
very
lucky
to
find
out
that
Mr.
Edwards
was
the
Coach
of
the
Girls
Varsity
team
of
a
private
preparatory
school,
called
the
Newport
School,
that
would
perfectly
fit
my
needs.
Mr.
Edwards
was
able
to
not
only
help
me
obtain
my
visa
for
the
USA,
but
also
to
help
me
get
a
spot
in
this
school.
Here
at
Newport
I
receive
more
undivided
attention
and
support
for
my
future
college
plans
I
would
never
have
received
if
I
stayed
in
Germany.
I
feel
very
blessed
because
this
is
the
best
opportunity
I
could
get
and
furthermore
it
can
be
regarded
as
a
great
stepping-stone
in
my
life.
I
now
not
only
can
take
AP
courses
and
follow
my
educational
objectives,
as
well
as
help
in
the
community,
but
I
can
also
keep
on
running
track
which
is
a
great
hobby
of
mine.
This
all
helps
me
to
broaden
my
horizon,
learn,
understand,
and
get
more
and
more
familiar
with
the
American
culture,
society
and
its
people.
I
really
appreciate
the
chance
that
was
offered
to
me
and
it
is
truly
in
my
greatest
interest
to
make
the
best
out
of
it.
THANK
YOU
MR.
EDWARDS!
