This
program
is
designed
to:
-
Assess
the
academic
eligibility
of
international
students
to
be
successful
in
American
Secondary
Schools;
-
Provide
them
with
a
written
report
of
their
academic
skills
for
appropriate
placement
in
American
Secondary
Schools;
-
Provide
academic
counseling
about
their
intended
schools
of
attendance;
-
Provide
college
counseling
about
the
American
College
Admissions
Process;
and
-
Begin
elementary
English
language
instruction.
Program
Design:
Students
will
be
tested
in
a
variety
of
areas
including:
English
language,
Natural
Sciences
and
Math.
Students
will
be
assessed
to
determine
the
viability
of
their
success
at
an
American
High
School
given
their
English
language
skills
as
well
as
their
math
and
Science
proficiency.
A
written
report
will
be
generated
at
the
end
of
the
two
week
session
detailing
their
skill
levels
in
the
above
listed
areas.
Students
will
attend
daily
two
hour
classes
of
English,
two
hour
work
out
sessions
and
a
daily
counseling
session
to
include
topics
such
as
American
College
Admissions,
Standardized
Testing,
Financial
Planning,
American
High
School
Culture,
Familiarity
with
their
intended
school
of
study,
and
other
topics
to
be
determined.

Student
Athletes
will
be
brought
together
for
a
two
week
summer
program
at
one
central
location
to
be
determined
annually.
Housing:
Boarding
arrangements
will
be
made
through
the
program
for
homestays
during
the
academic
year.
Personnel:
Director
–
prepare
materials,
supervise
staff,
program
design,
arrange
boarding
arrangement
for
program,
prepare
written
assessments
of
individual
student-athletes;
Counselor/ESL
Instructor
–
Provide
Language
Instruction,
go
over
individual
school
materials
with
each
student,
provide
college
application
orientation;
Math/Science/Computer
Instructor
-
Conduct
testing
and
assessment
for
placement
upon
arrival
at
schools.
Program
Cost:
US$2500
–
includes
materials,
processing
fees,
written
educational
assessment,
counseling
and
instruction
and
room
and
board
for
the
two
weeks.
Students
who
matriculate
successfully
in
American
High
Schools
will
have
their
TOEFL
registration
fees,
SATI
fees
and
one
SAT
II
or
Advanced
Placement
exam
fee
paid
for
them.
