Mrs.
Doar
has
been
both
the
Summer
Program
Director
as
well
as
the
Middle
School
Director
at
the
Newport
School
for
four
years.
She
has
taught
both
social
science
and
history
courses
as
a
University
level
Adjunct
instructor;
on
the
high
school
level
as
a
full
time
teacher;
and
on
the
middle
school
level
part-time
in
an
academic
readiness
program
for
gifted
students
of
color.
During
the
1996
camping
season
she
worked
as
a
Senior
Division
Director
at
World
of Discovery
Day
Camp
in
Brooklyn,
NY.
She
serves
on
the
Board
of
Directors
for
Life-Force
Media
Services
for Youth
in
New
York
City
and
was
the
Assistant
Director
of
its
educational
incentive
program
for
public
high
school
students,
CLUB-B.
She
has
been
a
guest
presenter
for
the
American
Sociological
Association,
Junior Achievement,
WTEM
Radio
and
the
People
of
Color
in
Independent
Schools
Job
Fair.
Her
research
and
writing
will
be
published
in
the
upcoming
Encyclopedia
of
African-American
Associations.
Mrs.
Doar
holds
a
B.A.
with
departmental
honors
in
African-American studies
from
Wesleyan
University,
an
M.A.
in
Sociology
from
Northeastern
University,
and
doctoral
credits
in
education
and
inequality
from
the
University
of
Southern
California.
