About: My vision is helping aspiring athletes develop not only their skills on the court, but their character off it. Through sports, I aim to teach resilience, mental toughness, and how to push through adversity. I believe the confidence, courage, and tenacity gained through athletics can positively shape a young person’s future.

What matters most is playing the game the right way and having the courage to grow as a player and person

Yates Division
About: A proud Jack Yates Lion alumnus and Alcorn State graduate, Mr. Jason Lewis is entering his 20th year with Houston ISD. He serves as Head Football and Wrestling Coach at Jack Yates High School, where he is passionate about developing young people through sport, education, and faith.

As Division Director at Yates, Mr. Lewis is committed to creating a structured, uplifting, and inclusive environment where every child can develop their skills, grow in sportsmanship, be spiritually encouraged, and feel connected to a strong community. He looks forward to continuing to grow the EBL basketball family with heart, purpose, and faith.

About: Serves as the Austin HS EBL Division Director with over 17 years of coaching experience and three years of leadership within EBL. He is passionate about helping young athletes grow in confidence, learn the fundamentals, and enjoy the game of basketball. His focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and encouragement helps create a fun, positive season where every child feels supported and excited to play.
