Elementary Basketball League

OUR STORY • WHY EBL MATTERS
Building leaders through basketball,
faith, and community.
The Elementary Basketball League (EBL) is more than a season — it’s a values-based movement helping children discover who they are, why they matter, and how they can lead right now.

How EBL Started
EBL began in 2012 with a simple but powerful vision: use basketball to shape character and help children grow into confident leaders. What started as a local effort quickly became a place where kids learned teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship — and where families felt supported.
Our goal:
Create a structured, uplifting, and inclusive league environment that builds better players and stronger people.
What Makes Us Different
  • Values are built into practice and game day.
  • Leadership is taught, modeled, and expected.
  • Community is strengthened through service and unity.
  • Families get a clear, organized experience.

Founder Spotlight
Coach Jason Lewis, M.Ed.
Elementary Basketball League — Founder

Driven by a God-given calling to shape lives through sport, education, and faith, Coach Lewis has always believed in building more than athletes—he builds futures. That same heart gave birth to the Elementary Basketball League (EBL) in 2012. What began as a simple vision to prepare young students for the next level of play quickly became a powerful movement focused on character, confidence, and teamwork.

In 2022, EBL stepped into a new season of growth through a partnership with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), which commissioned Pervis Hall to help expand the league’s reach and deepen its impact. Together, they strengthened a program that doesn’t just train players—but raises leaders, nurtures faith, and instills responsibility to serve others.

Today, EBL impacts 3rd through 5th graders by giving them a place to grow in skill on the court and in purpose beyond it. Coach Lewis continues to serve faithfully as the EBL Division Director at Yates High School, creating a culture where every child is seen, supported, and inspired to believe in what they can become.

He looks forward to continuing to grow the EBL family with heart, purpose, and faith.
#WeSaluteYOU

Skill Development
We teach fundamentals, confidence, and teamwork so kids grow as players and people — learning to lead, communicate, and keep improving.
Character & Faith
Integrity, humility, sacrifice, and respect are built into every practice and game — because who a child becomes matters more than the scoreboard.
Family-Centered
We aim for a positive, organized environment where families feel welcomed, informed, and supported from the first whistle to the last.
Community Impact
We’re building a culture where kids learn to serve others, represent their school well, and become positive change agents in their communities.
